What a fantastic season of golf!
After all the hard work of our junior section we finally arrived at the JTG England final venue of McDonald’s Portal in Cheshire, with our juniors ready to play against seven other teams with players’ handicaps ranging between +3 to 22 .
The weather was kinder than originally forecast but the course was wet, so all hopes of a long running ball were dashed and, with a Championship course that is 7041 yards long, it was always going to be a challenge. Nevertheless our team stayed strong and played well, but unfortunately not well enough to make it to the National Finals. However, with a young squad who have supported each other through every round that lead to the England Finals, we are all really proud to have them represent Bramshaw. The future is rosy and we’ve got many more matches, tournaments, opens and friendlies to look forward to – onwards and upwards.
The winners were from Goodwood Golf with a score of 365 and the Runners Up were Burhill A with a score of 375. We finished with a score of 387.
Through the year I’ve had the help of Pete Barney who has been able to represent me at the away venues and, with Captain Jake Barney by his side, it has been invaluable and we are all grateful for his support and assistance.
